Derek Grogan, COO

Derek Grogan has broad experience across several industries, covering software engineering, operations management, pre-sales & IT consultancy and manufacturing. Derek is responsible for day-to-day operations within MHInvent, covering software design/development, product marketing and sales support.

Derek was previously founder and director of IT and Business Consultancy firm TechFinder, based in the Republic of Ireland, providing a mix of technology-related consultancy services to business and exploring new business opportunities for emerging technologies. Prior to founding TechFinder, Derek was head of pre-sales with global m-payments technology firm Valista (formerly Network365), where he was involved in many aspects of the company’s growth from start-up to established international industry leader. Previously Derek worked with mid-range ERP vendor, Vision Business Technology (VBT), as pre-sales consultant. In the 90’s, Derek was involved in the textiles industry, in a variety of roles that encompassed both operations and IT responsibilities. Derek’s early career was with Ericsson and Siemens, working as a telecoms engineer.

Derek attended University College Dublin, where he qualified in 1985 with an honours degree in electronic engineering.
